Sheehan & McFarlane was the first signature combination seen on Australia's notes at the time of the coronation of KGVI. World War II began late in 1939 and Sheehan's tenure ended shortly after that, which meant that the number of notes issued with these signatures was quite low relative to later combinations in the KGVI series.
